Spanning from the postwar period to the 1980’s, these environmental portraits capture elite members of society, Hollywood, fashion, royalty and industry enjoying themselves among country homes, grand ballrooms, sun-kissed seaside getaways and snowy European enclaves. While they are a product of a bygone era, Aarons’ images resonate today as the precursor to celebrity lifestyle photography becoming ubiquitous.
