A riff on our timeless JH x Tensira Kendall Pillow, this throw pillow was created in collaboration with Tensira — a celebrated textile house founded by a Guinean and Finnish husband-and-wife duo that blends Scandinavian aesthetics with ancestral West African weaving and dyeing methods. We dreamed up Kendall’s original design in-house, drawing on vintage French ticking and the varied band sizes found on India’s traditional striped
dhurrie
rugs. Tensira’s team of skilled craftswomen then brought our design to life using cotton that was spun and woven by hand and traditional indigo-dyeing techniques that were passed down for generations. Once completed, smaller sections of this fabric were then carefully stitched together to create a series of dimensional diamond-like shapes. Finally, we finished it with a plush down and feather pillow insert for soft, sink-in comfort. We couldn’t be happier with the end result, which perfectly blends European elegance with global authenticity.
