Handmade in Florence, Italy, this lidded vessel is covered with a swirling marbleized motif in your choice of two vibrant palettes, created using traditional paper marbling techniques. Following this centuries-old process, skilled craftspeople drip paint onto the surface of water and swirl the pigments together to create organic, marmoreal-inspired designs. A single sheet of paper is carefully dipped into this colorful bath, allowing it to pick up that one-of-a-kind design. Once dried, that paper is used to completely cover Firenze, creating a truly unique little box. A useful addition to just about any room of the house, we love our Firenze Box on the desktop for holding paperclips, rubber bands and other office accessories; as a safe spot to store jewelry and other EDC essentials on the bedroom dresser; or for concealing clutter on a well-styled bookshelf in the living room.
