Earthy yet oh-so-chic, Solo comes to us from Indonesia, where it was handcarved into a simple shape from a solid block of suar wood — a sustainable hardwood that’s harvested from a fast-growing subspecies of rain tree. Drawing on centuries of traditional wood burning techniques, it’s simple silhouette is coated with several layers of a squid ink and shellac mixture, which is charred while still wet to create a deep charcoal finish. With its sleek style and stark black hue, Solo is sure to stand out wherever it goes.
