Description
Our Sakana Trivet certainly is a catch! This charming little trivet comes to us from Japan’s Kagawa Prefecture, where it was carved from cedar wood into the shape of a fish. It is finished with a centuries-old wood burning technique known as Shou Sugi Ban, in which wood is charred and then sealed with a natural oil to enhance its durability. In the case of Sakana, this unique finish also highlights the beauty of its natural graining and create a beautiful deep brown hue. Perfect for keeping counters and tabletops safe from hot dishes when you’re entertaining, our Sakana Trivet can also easily be kept on display when not in use thanks to its braided jute hanging loop.
