These gorgeous table linens come to us from India, where they were handmade from khadi fabric — a sustainable material crafted from hand-spun and woven cotton on a traditional charkha, or spinning wheel. A symbol of India’s freedom movement, this historic fabric gained popularity in the 1920s when it was promoted by Mahatma Ghandi as both a method for self-employment and a way to boycott British fabric mills. Crafted following these century-old techniques, our Jalna Napkins are dyed in bright white and finished with a red striped border.
